professional appearance

I receive feedback a couple of times per year about my professional appearance. It somehow factors into my professional personality. I understand the operation I work for and that they must keep the teachers bathed, clothed, and presentable.
My wardrobe isn't as classy as some: my clothing choice each day comes down to comfort. Whatever is clean, I wear. I have heard that you should always dress for the job you wish to have.

Well, I guess the job I want is to feel how I want. I'm letting my hair grow slowly into dreadlocks. I combed it into sections and now wash it and dry it carefully without combing. So far I still have bangs and straight hair framing my face. The back is knotting up and looks like wavy, uncombed long strands.

I like it so far: I have some body to my hair and it's still soft. But it's beginning the awkward stages of baby locks. Very fuzzy. The kids have been asking about it. I like answering their questions.

I dunno exactly what the hairs will look like until they arrive :) I am excited and have been waiting forever to do this.

I do worry, however, that I might get negative comments from other adults I work with and respect. I shouldn't care what others think, so I will try to stay positive.
